In 1984 I wrote as a very young music journalist that Madonna was going to change the face of female fashion – well for the next 15 years she certainly did. Now in 2005 I again find myself looking at another young phenomenon, a female DJ from the island of Koh Samui off Thailand, a girl called Nakadia. DJ Nakadia to be precise and I see the future, an iconic DJ who will change the face of the DJ world globally – beautiful, serene, graceful but yet as funky and dynamic behind the turntables as Madonna herself would have been had she chosen to be a DJ instead of a singer. Pure poetry in motion behind the decks – her mixing and music in sync with her every move. Nakadia will be an ambassador, not just for the women and people of Thailand but the entire Asian world. It has been only 4 years since nakadia changed the catwalk with vinyls and decks. Since then she has developed into one of the most successful female DJs touring the world. Many things have happened in only such a short time and the entire industry is stunned by the unique development of Thai DJ Nakadia. What started more as a hobby out of the love for music seems to be one of the most incredible DJ careers in history now.
The first European tours of 2004 have changed into a constant traveling situation in 2005. No less than 28 countries are on the schedule. The summer of 2005 was just another amazing highlight in the beginning career of Nakadia. Just about 60 performances in 21 countries only between April and august 2005. From the biggest festivals in Eastern Europe, via VIP parties on the Cote D Azur in France, via Ibiza to the UK and the rest of Europe, Nakadia did it all this summer. Her amazing talent and right choice of music at every location seems to amaze even the biggest icons of the industry. Co-operations with the best agencies across the globe are just at the start and according to music industry professionals predict a huge future for the little Thai girl.
